New Technologies.

Do we want to go back to the Bullock Cart Age?

Going back to Bullock Cart age, is not realistic, in to day’s world. If you do not use and adopt new technologies, without ideological bias, one will be left behind, both at individual level and as a Nation. The use of Computers is a good example from recent past.

How do we see Changes?

It is human nature to choose more comfortable life style, which no doubt will make some impact on the environment. With better awareness and by prudent use of resources, we can try to reduce the damage. Such changes are inevitable part of development. The history of earth over millions of years, has shown that humans and many other organisms, are capable of adapting to such changes, by mutation, and natural selection. Life forms do exist even on earth, without oxygen and light. Global warming, is a controversial natural cyclical phenomenon. There is proof that the earth was warmer and the sea level was much higher. Most of Kerala was  under sea water, in the not so back in distant past. We must be concerned about our environment and use our knowledge and resources very carefully. The development needs of society are not being helped, by activists, overreacting, misleading and blowing things out of proportion. Condemning new technologies, modern products, practices, facilities and development, is propaganda, based on vested interests or inadequate knowledge. We are using modern medicines and medical practices, for treatment of cancer, brain ailments and heart problems. Devastating Red Palm Weevil or Bud Rot of epidemic proportions, calls for correct use of modern pesticides, to save the Coconut palms in Kerala.

One of our Ministers in Kerala, recently told the press, tha that he would not allow Driver- less Cars in Kerala, to protect the job of Drivers. One must realise, that many other better job opertunities will open up. We should take steps to train the people in skills, for such future jobs, to ensure better paying emplyment opertunuties, than being drivers. See what the computer world and information technologies, have opened up.

Yes prudent use of available new technologies and products, is the need of our time. Banning or opposing every change or product is likely to prove far more harmful and expensive to the society in future. The leaders should have futuristic vision for our  Developmenmt
